High Performance Learning
We are proud to be recognised as a High Performance Learning School (HPL). In the academic year of 2025/26, we are working towards a World Class HPL award, which is a global prestige recognition. We believe we already meet these standards. We want all of our children to BELIEVE, BELONG and BECOME successful pupils of our school and successful adults in our community.
We embed the HPL philosophy throughout our school. We never tell our students they cannot achieve; we reassure that although they may not doing it yet, with practice and persevere it will happen. #everyonecan is HPL and ATP's mantra.
As part of this we have implemented Values, Attitudes and Attributes (VAA’s) that help our pupils learning how to behave. They are linked to the attributes of been: Empathetic, Agile and Hardworking. We have turned these into animal names so that our children can remember them. Advance Cognitive Performance Characteristics (ACP's) teach our pupils how to think. We have turned these into characters such as Analysing Annie and Meta-Michael.
These skills and competencies are taught, promoted and recognised in class to promote good behaviour and thinking hard. Your child will come home and talk about them or it will be written on their postcards or HPL certificate of the week. Please ask your child about these at home and look out on our social media for examples of children displaying these in school.
